In order to support 50% of the investment value as a grant from the state, Albanian farmers and agriculturists will have the opportunity to apply starting from October 1. The National Investment Scheme with a value of 5 million euros has already entered into force and foresees to help the investments that will be made in greenhouses, stables, in agricultural machinery and fishing.

"We are delayed in providing support to farmers and investments in farms due to the suspension of IPARD. For as many months as there are 5 million euros left, it is a good fund", says Ilir Pirku, agribusiness expert

As livestock are dying out with numbers reaching up to 35,000 fewer a year, the scheme also includes support for breeding for the first time. Half of the investment in stables for animal breeding and growth of establishments will be covered by the state, but no more than 15 million ALL will be given per subject. Those who will benefit must have more than 10 cows, more than 100 small heads and even more than 10,000 poultry.

"It supports the construction of stables, the breeding of livestock, sows or poultry with a support measure of over 150 thousand euros for an investment", adds Pirku.

No more than 5 million ALL in the form of a grant will be given for equipment for agricultural and livestock farms. While fishing will include grants of up to 20 million ALL.

"It will also require a flexibility of the implementing authority to request a construction permit in the contracting phase", said the expert for A2.

30% of the total fund for investment will be given from the beginning in advance. If the fund of 500 million lek fails to be absorbed by farmers during 2024, the funding will be reallocated and transferred again to farmers' funding next year
