In recent years, the role of the private detective in Albania has become increasingly important, especially for businesses that want to protect their interests.

From investigating cases of mismanagement and fraud to monitoring the credibility of partners and employees, the demand for these services is growing. But how does the work of a private detective actually work?

What are the challenges it faces? And how developed is this industry in Albania? Shkënda Lili, a private detective with experience in the market, helps us understand more about this issue…

How has the role of the private detective in Albania changed in recent years?

The role of the private investigator has advanced significantly in recent years. At a time when businesses and individuals face more complex challenges, the demand for private investigators has increased.

Every day more and more, people seek our services to uncover and verify important information, whether for simple suspicions or more complex cases related to financial fraud, the credibility of business partners, or even personal matters.

Is there an increase in the tendency of companies to hire detectives to monitor employees?

Yes, especially in large companies that operate in partnerships.

These businesses want to have a clear overview of their partners and how they operate inside and outside the company.

In addition, there is also a great interest in monitoring employees and managers at different levels, to understand whether they are loyal to the company or whether they may be acting against its interests.

What are the main reasons companies decide to hire detectives? (Shortages, suspicions of mismanagement, industrial espionage, etc.)

The reasons are many, but the main ones are related to employee trust and the management of sensitive information. Companies want to be sure that their employees are not leaking internal secrets or confidential information to third parties.

There are cases where mismanagement, financial fraud or even industrial espionage are suspected, where an employee may share information with competitors.

How do you balance your work with individual privacy and legal boundaries?

Confidentiality between the client and our office is an absolute priority. We always act within the bounds of the law and ensure that every investigation is conducted with the highest ethical and professional standards.

Any information received is treated with the utmost care and is shared only with the client who has requested our service.

Are employees informed about the possibility of monitoring by companies?

No, absolutely not. When we conduct an investigation, no one other than the client who contracted us is aware of the work we do.

Everything is carried out in complete secrecy and in a professional manner, without arousing suspicion or exposing the source of the investigation.

Can you share an interesting case where a company has used your services?

I had a case with a large company in Albania that had an Italian partner. The Italian hired me to conduct an investigation against the company's director, as he suspected that she was connected to the Albanian partner.

His suspicion was related to economic betrayal of the company and he wanted to know everything about her, including the assets created during the period she was employed.

This investigation actually took a long time, as we had to obtain information from several relevant institutions to reach an accurate conclusion.

They even analyzed her movements outside of Albania (vacations and everything else).

Apart from the fact that she was connected to the Albanian partner, it turned out that all of the client's suspicions were true.

In fact, this is not the only case, there are many such cases in large companies, and not only. Therefore, I call on all businesses that have partnerships to be careful and ensure every collaboration they do.

What are the biggest challenges you face in your work?

All the work we do has great challenges and difficulties, nothing is as easy as it seems from the outside.

Private detective is a highly responsible profession, requiring patience, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze complex situations.

There are times when we face a lack of information, people trying to cover their tracks, or legal restrictions that we must respect at every step.

In addition, not every investigation ends with complete success, as sometimes the desired result may not be achieved.

However, even in such cases, every investigation helps us improve our methods and be more accurate in future work. /Monitor.al
