Today, April 1, is the deadline for completing the Annual Income Tax Declaration for 2024.
According to the General Directorate of Taxes, there are over 144 thousand individuals who are required to complete the DIVA, and this includes all employees who had a gross monthly salary of over 100 thousand lek during the past year (over 1.2 million lek per year), dual employees and those who have untaxed income of up to 50 thousand lek earned from daily rental income, Air Bnb or Booking.
Preliminary verifications by the tax administration revealed around 33 million euros in income generated by individuals through the social networking platforms META, Youtube and Google that must be declared to DIVA.
A day ago, the tax website experienced problems and could not be accessed due to the high influx of filers.
Anyone who fails to submit the declaration is fined 3 thousand lek, to which interest and late payment interest are also attached. Completing this declaration serves the Tax Administration to conduct checks for tax evasion and to investigate assets. The deadline was March 31, but the Tax Directorate postponed it to April 1 because Monday was an official holiday due to the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
