In 2022, 3,608 (three thousand six hundred and eight) business companies were registered in the country in the form of joint stock company SHA and limited liability company ShPC. The data has been processed by Open Data Albania. There are 903 of them with completely foreign capital or 25.03% of the total number of companies. The number of companies with mixed foreign and domestic capital is 232 or 6.43%, the rest of the registrations in the National Business Register are companies with fully domestic capital. If we look at the share in the total capital of companies established in this year with completely foreign owners, it turns out that this capital is 2.17 billion (two billion one hundred seventy three million ninety six thousand two hundred thirty three) ALL or 30.12% of the total capital of companies established in 2022.

In 2022, the total capital of companies established with foreign or local ownership is 7 214 893 895 (seven billion two hundred fourteen million eight hundred ninety three thousand eight hundred ninety five) ALL. In addition to companies with entirely foreign capital, there are also a number of 232 companies with mixed Albanian and foreign capital.

If we look at the countries from which these owners of companies founded in 2022 originate, Italy is in first place with 472 companies or 13.11% of the total companies founded in this year. Italy is followed by Kosovo with 56, Egypt with 26 companies. In the country there are also companies from more distant countries such as Syria, Kuwait, Iraq, etc.

In a grouping by Continents, the European one holds the highest number in terms of the Origin of Capital of Companies founded in 2022. In terms of capital, the ranking is not the same. Dutch companies lead by weight per capital value with 776 587 100 ALL and German capital with 476 293 899 ALL.
