Security authorities in Berlin are preparing for a large-scale police operation as part of the protest announced by the "Gen Y regelt" (Generation Z decides) initiative, which is expected to take place on Halloween.

To ensure security, around 1,500 additional police officers will be deployed on October 31, while water cannons will also be on standby, which can be used to disperse crowds.

The main protest is planned to take place near the Brandenburg Gate, starting at 2 p.m., at the same time as other rallies in various cities across Germany. According to police estimates, around 10,000 people are expected to participate in this protest.

Pupils, students and parents are expected to join the rally.

Meanwhile, the precautions are not limited to security authorities. The well-known perfume chain Douglas has planned to temporarily close 12 stores in Germany tomorrow.

A number of other businesses are also taking protective measures, setting up special structures to cover the windows of luxury stores, in anticipation of the protests.
