The Administrative Court of Appeal has decided to suspend the decision of the Albanian Bar Association to boycott court hearings at the Special Court (GJKKO).
For almost two months, lawyers had been boycotting the processes at the GJKKO, in protest against the court's regulations, which they consider an obstacle to the exercise of their duties.
The boycott has led to the delay of dozens of court hearings, including the trials against Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj and former President Ilir Meta.
With the latest decision, the Administrative Appeal has suspended the decision of the Chamber of Advocates that forced every lawyer not to participate in judicial proceedings in the Special Court.
