Survey: 40% of young people do not want either Rama or Berisha as prime minister
Sali Berisha and Edi Rama

At the weekend, I conducted an electronic survey with about 2000 completely random adults throughout the territory of Albania, where the main question was "Who do you want to be prime minister of the country: Rama, Berisha, or neither of these two?".

Among respondents aged 35-85, only 29% did not want either of them to be prime minister of the country. On the other hand, among young people aged 18-34, fully 39% do not want either Rama or Berisha as prime minister.

In the survey questionnaire, there were no questions about the reasons why respondents wanted one or the other or neither to be prime minister, but the fact that almost 40% of young people do not want either Rama or Berisha as prime minister is significant. In fact, other polls published recently show that the majority of young people have no hope for the better, and want to emigrate outside of Albania - neither Rama nor Berisha gives them hope.

The clash between Rama and Berisha started as early as December 13, 1990 (in the Palace of Culture of the Student City), and it seems certain that it will continue epically until the spring of 2025. How this clash will end is not known, but a a prediction can be made as early as today: Most young people will remain disappointed, regardless of which of the two wins in 2025.

Young politicians of both camps (who were small children in December 1991) must prepare today to take the baton after 2025. Otherwise, if Rama and Berisha remain the only alternatives even after 2025, it is unlikely that in the 2029 elections only gray-haired people will vote...
