At this point, Albania is no different from what would have happened in any western country, where the reaction to such an event would be similar.

But we differ from the public and official reaction to other scandals, which are not centered on sex, but on the theft of public money.

The same man has caused a stir from time to time, both by abusing municipal tenders and by abusing his duties to the point of poisoning drinking water.

But in all cases this happened without any consequences, no investigation and no official reaction.

Safeti became national news for dinners with McGonigal, or for mocking the poverty of the citizens with the famous expression "how have you been with the meat?".

But in no case was there any self-reflection or public apology.
The same behavior happened both from the SP and from the DP when it was in power. Stealing, abuse, cheating and even murder are tolerated, but not sex.

When Minister Pango appeared on video removing the cuffs, he was dismissed within an hour, but when Minister Meta appeared with a pad in hand, he defended himself until the last moment.

Undoubtedly, this happens because everyone does the sex for themselves, while they steal the money together.

The prime minister cannot dismiss a mayor who steals the budget, if he is stealing with his order or blessing.
But there is a second reason why this double standard exists, and it has to do with society's tolerance.

We have long been accustomed to the abuse of those in power to the point that we are no longer impressed when they are caught stealing from us.

This kind of acceptance of evil has shoved morality down the pants by giving amnesty to the thieves of our money.
If we don't get irritated when they steal from us, they will continue not to resign or apologize.

If the people will only get irritated when they see the politicians' panties up, they will continue to put their fingers in their mouths.
