Based on the book "Truths we carry" by K. Harris
A few days separate us from the elections considered to be the most important in the world.
On one side of the camp is Republican candidate Donald Trump, easily favored to win them, and on the other, the Democrat, a female candidate whose political career seems to have followed logical steps.
It's Kamala Harris, a former Attorney General in one of the largest states in the US, California.
In a patriarchal world order, the successes achieved by a woman not only go through immeasurable difficulties but mostly they are not appreciated as they should be.
Not forgetting that in Harris's case, we know that she belongs to the circle of people of color.
Some of you may not count the latter as an argument at all, since we are used to being inspired by the idea of ??the American dream, which teaches us that freedom and opportunities in that part of the world are endless, but in fact the opposite is also true. .
Racism, sexism, homophobia and anti-Semitism are realities in that country as much as in Europe, reinforcing once again the fact that what is being propagated is the same as that curtain before a theater performance - full of chaos, anxiety and debate - a mess that the viewer he doesn't have the luxury of seeing it.
Kamala Harris, former senator and recently a candidate for president, comes from a family of immigrants, a mixture of cultures and traditions, which is at the same time the essence of the demographic content of the American continent.
A graduate of Howard University, as we read in her book, she began her career in the justice system as a prosecutor.
A woman who, beyond the not always kind comments, carries pure ideals and a kindness so natural to help the weakest and most impossible.
Because of the job, life offered him to face real daily problems of American citizens making him realize that from that position he could not fully help these groups of people.
Therefore, for this reason, she refused to become the Attorney General of America, sitting from now on with the people.
So she chose to think that through politics, her ideas for a country with more equal rights, with a stronger democracy and where the weak would have a voice against injustices would be more easily implemented. In fact, she not only thinks this, but also believes in it.
She clearly saw the justice system as a tool, while politics as a solution beyond cause and effect.
In essence, such a policy is, has been since its birth in ancient Greece and will continue to be. The only problem is people who, with their gluttony, get more than they give through it.
Kamala comes to these elections as a candidate after withdrawing from the race brought by J. Biden's resignation.
And now she has in front of her not only a politician but also a businessman, a man as practical as he is charismatic, whose motto in his lifestyle is based on the material side brought by the dialectic of life.
The result of these elections is eagerly awaited, not only for the fate of the United States of America but also for the whole world.
More than ever, the winner will have the burden of making intense global politics, where the 'hot potatoes' will either cool or heat up the continents across the oceans - Europe and the Middle East as well.
Kamala seems extremely motivated, positive and hopeful in her electoral rallies which she has faced with dignity even when she had to listen to the insults of others.
Not infrequently we have even heard her compare herself to a superheroine like those from Marvel or DC movies, where against the dark forces, surrender is not an option and the fight must be fought to the end.
But how will she manage to win over the American people who, above all, remain one of the most easily influenced peoples on the planet?
As she points out in her book - "Truths we carry" - truth is the key to success. And there is no better way than that: being real, finding the problem, admitting it, and offering a solution.
From here, Kamala has chosen to face the electorate by keeping a low and very human profile.
Truth is relative to and its use must be careful without going into half-truths because these mark even the biggest lies.
As a lady prosecutor she combines justice with truth so that through this symbiosis she offers freedom, the latter tightly held through the elegant and invisible claws of interest groups, those who want to challenge the weak.
But will Kamala be able to create a precedent again as she has done so far in her career?
One thing must be said - if until a month ago the difference between the two candidates was large, now it has narrowed significantly and Tuesday of this new week, November 5, will mark the final answer.
Materialism or Freedom? – This is the issue.
