This adds to the suspicion that the assassin was helped by other people to leave the scene.

The 49-year-old Pope was rushed to the Trauma Hospital in the capital, where he later died due to serious injuries.

Edmond Pope lived for some time in Great Britain. He was sentenced to 7 years in prison in Greece for drug trafficking. The 49-year-old was the owner of a hotel in Saranda.

The police suspect that the cause of the murder could be conflicts over illegal activities.
