The 69-year-old Hysni Patushi who stabbed his 58-year-old wife, Lumturie Patushi, to death in the chest is being held in prison.

The crime occurred in Tirana, while his wife died on the spot.

The suspicion is that the elderly man was intoxicated, a circumstance that was not mitigating for the security measure.

How did the crime happen within the family?

The conflict between them arose from Lumturia's absence from home. She spent more time at her daughter's house, in the apartment where the crime occurred, to take care of her 4 minor children. But this was not accepted by 69-year-old Hysni Patushi, who left their house in "Don Bosko" with a knife in his hand for his daughter's house on "Rruga Ranorama" where he committed the serious crime in front of his grandchildren.

This wasn't the first time he had raised his hand against his wife. In 2017, he was also arrested for raping Lumturija, the mother of his 7 children.

After the murder, Hysni Patushi threw the knife outside the building and fled towards Kamza, where he met a relative. Pushed by him, he surrendered to the police where he confessed to the crime, blaming alcohol for escalating the conflict. Meanwhile, the murder weapon, thanks to security cameras in the area, was found and seized.
