The Supreme Court has upheld the life sentence for Besnik Pjetri , the perpetrator of the murder of two people in Lezha in August 2022, who was found guilty of committing two criminal offenses: "Murder in other qualifying circumstances " and " Unlicensed possession of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition ."

The Criminal Panel of the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal filed by Besnik Pjetri, leaving in force the decision issued by the Appeal with General Jurisdiction on November 21, 2024.

The decision was made by a trio of judges Ilir Panda, Sokol Binaj and Sandër Simoni , who did not take into account Pjetri's claims to overturn the decision given by the two lower courts.

The serious crime was recorded on the evening of August 28 in the village of Grykzezë, Lezha.

Besnik Pjetri shot and killed his former father-in-law Pjetër Perjaku and his former brother-in-law Gentian Perjaku, inside their apartment.

The motive for the murder is suspected to have been a conflict the perpetrator had with the family of his ex-wife, with whom he had been divorced for 6 years.
