The Court of Appeal has upheld the decision with life imprisonment for Besnik Pjetri (Perdeda), which was previously given by the Court of Lezha.
In August 2022, Besnik Pjetri killed his ex-father-in-law, Pjetër Perjaku and ex-brother-in-law, Gentian Perjaku, with a firearm in their apartment in the village of Grykë Zeze in Lezha.
Besnik Pjetri, the former son-in-law of the Perjaku family, went to the latter's apartment and shot his former father-in-law and former brother-in-law with an automatic firearm, leaving them dead.
The serious incident allegedly happened after family conflicts, while the author had divorced his wife a few years before the incident. The two victims had returned from Italy the day before the incident.
The author and his ex-wife lived in Italy. After the divorce, they stayed in EU countries and then Pjetri returned to Albania.
The ex-wife had denounced him for violence in Italy, where he also served 2 years in prison.
