Two young men aged 25 and 22 have been arrested by the police in Tirana, after it was discovered that they had staged an accident to receive compensation.

A 22-year-old man lost control of his Benz type car and as a result went off the road and crashed. In order to benefit from the compensation insurance company, in cooperation with his friend, a 25-year-old man staged an accident.

The Benz car, already damaged, collided with another Opel vehicle driven by the 25-year-old. Their plan backfired after it was discovered by street security cameras.

Police notification:

The specialists of the Tirana Traffic Police Station arrested citizens IT, 25 years old, resident of Tapizë and AK, 22 years old, resident of Nikël, for the criminal offenses "Insurance fraud" and "Actions that prevent the discovery of the truth", carried out in cooperation, provided by articles 145 and 301/25 of the Criminal Code.

On 04.10.2024, around 14:00, on the "Valias-Tirana" road axis, the citizen AK, driving a "Benz" type vehicle, lost control and as a result the vehicle went off the road.


Then, in order to unfairly benefit from compensation from the insurance company, the AK citizen, in cooperation with the IT citizen, staged a collision of his vehicle with the "Volksvagen Golf" type vehicle driven by the IT citizen, and presented to the verification agents of the Traffic Police, false data for the vehicle being insured.
