New details are emerging from the serious incident that occurred this Monday at the Court of Appeal in Tirana, where a gunshot was fired inside the courtroom and Judge Astrit Kalaja died.

The suspected perpetrator of the incident is citizen Gjon Shkambi, not unknown to the public.

For several years now, he has repeatedly denounced in the media a conflict he had with property in Shkodra.

Shkambi has appeared on investigative shows and news reports from time to time in the past, claiming that 31 families had occupied a building and land in Shkodra.

A hearing has been scheduled for today at the Tirana Court of Appeals for precisely this issue.
