Judge Astrit Kalaja
The perpetrator of the murder of Judge Astrit Kalaja has been identified today inside the courtroom at the Tirana Court of Appeals.
According to information, the perpetrator is Gjon Shkambi, who was arrested immediately after the serious incident.
Shkëmbi managed to enter the courtroom armed, and opened fire on Judge Astrit Kalaja and two other people, a father and son, who were injured.
Two other people were also injured, Ervis and Rakip Kurtaj, father and son.
Judge Kalaja did not survive the gunshot wounds and died in hospital.
It is previously suspected that the perpetrator had a property dispute in court.
