New details have been made clear of the murder of 26-year-old Italian Vanessa Ballan, who was stabbed by 41-year-old Kosovo Albanian Bujar Fandaj.
In 2021, Vanessa was persecuted by another man whom she met several months before Fandaj.
Even on that occasion there had been threatening messages, harassment in front of the supermarket where he worked and persistent phone calls.
The 26-year-old had made a dennement on that occasion. It is understood that the prosecution had opened a case and sent the person in question to court. But in the first hearings of the trial Vanessa Ballan withdrew the denulation and the case was closed.
A similar dennement was made by Vanessa for Bujar Fandaj on October 25 this year, accompanied by her husband Nicola Scapinello.
Italian Justice Minister Carlo Nordio asked the competent dicaster's offices to take a detailed report and investigate why it was not acted upon in the case of the second prosecution.
