The russian federation's leader, Vladimir Putin, could attack Europe in 2024 or 2025.

According to a report by German newspaper Bild, Putin will wait for the moment when the United States will find itself "without a leader" and will not be able to quickly help its partners contain Russia.

This possibility is being considered by one of The European intelligence agencies, in the background of the current head of the German Defense Ministry's assumptions that NATO and the EU have at least 10 years of reserve.

"That is, we are talking about the period between the moment when the current U.S. president will leave office in early November 2024 and the moment when a potential successor will take his place in January 2025," the post tells of the "dramatic scenario" for Putin's attack.

In one of his recent interviews with German media, Boris Pistorius also said Berlin has 5-8 years to restore the strength of its army.

Germany will re-deploy 4,000 Bundeswahr soldiers to Lithuania as part of nato's eastern flank by 2027. The brigade is scheduled to be deployed to the border with Russia, Pistorius announced.

The minister also stressed that compulsory military conscription should be restored in Germany.
