SPAK has started investigations into the video scandal of the former mayor of Kukës, Safet Gjici. BKH investigators have taken the footage of the security cameras of the Municipality of Kukes, dated June 6, 2023, to see the entrance and exit of the girl who is shown having intimate relations with Gjici.

According to SPAK experts who have seen the video, it is longer, and only the 2 minutes that have been made public have been cut from it. There are doubts that in the rest of the video, other issues were discussed that could aggravate Gjic's position in front of justice.

The investigators seized the entry-exit registers in the mayor's office to see if the girl visited Gjic's office again.

SPAK has managed to identify the girl through a tattoo on her hand that can be seen in the video and in the photos taken from her profile on the Facebook social network. The girl has not been questioned as she has not yet been found by investigators.

Safet Gjici was also not questioned. Statements related to this issue will also be given by employees of the Municipality of Kukës.

Sources from SPAK indicate that at the moment Safet Gjici can only be accused of shameful actions in public, considering his mayor's office as a public environment. But in order to go to the charge of "abuse of duty" they have to prove the girl's interest in any possible project that had to get the signature of the mayor, and then in exchange the performance of an intimate act in his office.

After the publication of a video on social media, in which he appeared having intimate relations, the former mayor of Kukës Safet Gjici has deleted all traces on social networks. Gjic's official page on the social network Facebook is no longer available, although a day ago he published there the reaction after the video was published.

Also, all the posts of Safet Gjic have been deleted from the official website of the Municipality of Kukës. This site is managed by his close associates. Safet Gjici resigned and was then dismissed from office by government decision.

In the reaction he made on social networks after the publication of the video scandal, Safet Gjici apologized to the voters but forgot to ask his family members. He is married and has 4 grown children.
