From November 1, citizens using the Kamëz-Tirana urban transport line will face an increase in ticket prices and monthly passes.
It is learned that starting tomorrow, the public transport ticket will cost 50 lek , up from 40 lek until today, while the monthly subscription has increased to 14,000 lek from 12,000 lek .
The line operator has submitted a request to the Kamëz Municipality Transport Directorate for a tariff increase, supported by a detailed cost analysis and economic arguments. The document states that the increase in fuel prices and operating costs makes it necessary to adjust the current tariff.
Subsequently, the Kamëz Municipality , led by Mayor Rakip Suli , has drafted a technical and financial report justifying the price change, writes newsbomb .
This proposal was reviewed by the relevant City Council committees covering economy, finance, and transportation, and was ultimately approved by vote by the City Council.
The decision to increase the price of tickets and monthly passes has brought revolt among citizens who have expressed their dissatisfaction to the media at a time when the price increase is being felt everywhere.
