Former Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj is answering questions from Constitutional Court judges as his appeal against dismissal from office is being reviewed.

He stated before the judges that the delegation of the task is legal, while adding that it has not hindered the work of the Municipality of Tirana. Among other things, Veliaj said that he is in an absurd situation, as if he is 'in a Kafka novel'.

Judge: Did you actually perform your duty, or were you absent with good reason?

Erion Veliaj: I would really like to be in the office, not in prison, on delegation, but as long as delegation of duties is legal, Tirana has not been absent and no procedure has been obstructed by me, I am absent for a reason. Today I find myself in an absurdity, I am in a Kafka novel...
