Death of Ilir Kalaveri in the chrome mine, technical manager of the works

Bulqiza police have arrested the technical manager of a mining entity, following a tragic accident at work that took the life of a 40-year-old man.

Citizen PK, 63 years old, resident of the village of Vajkal, Bulqizë, who was the technical manager at the mining entity where the incident occurred, was arrested.

According to the Police, the arrest was made following investigative actions carried out in connection with the accident that occurred on August 1, 2026, in which citizen Ilir Kolaveri, 40 years old, lost his life.

Preliminary investigations suspect that the 63-year-old did not comply with occupational safety regulations, which is suspected to have led to the fatal accident.

Bulqizė

The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Bulqizë Police Commissariat arrested citizen PK, 63 years old, resident of the village of Vajkal, Bulqizë, with the position of technical manager in a mining entity.

His arrest was made after, from the investigative actions carried out in relation to the incident that occurred on 01.08.2026, it is suspected that in his capacity as technical manager of the mining entity, he did not implement the rules of occupational safety, as a result of which citizen IK, 40 years old, was fatally injured.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Dibër, for the criminal offense of "Violation of occupational safety rules".
