Bronchial crisis, vomiting and sudden deterioration of Pope Francis' respiratory condition, this is the latest announcement from the Vatican.

"The Pope in the early hours of this afternoon, after a morning spent alternating respiratory physiotherapy with prayer in the chapel, presented an isolated bronchial crisis, which, however, defined an episode of vomiting with shortness of breath and a sudden deterioration in the respiratory appearance.

"The Pope was immediately bronchoaspirated and a non-invasive ventilation response was initiated, collaborating with therapeutic maneuvers," the Vatican press office announced.
