An unusual case is reported from the Small Karbunara in Lushnje, where a herd of 80 sheep and goats was massacred during the night by wolves.

The incident occurred at around 3:30 this morning, September 21, when the wolf entered the enclosure, attacking the herd.

According to livestock farmer Namik Sinani, 40 heads were eaten and strangled by the wild animal, while the rest were left injured, some on the road and some inside the pen.

The farmer, shocked by the event, is seeking help from the state to compensate for the herd, emphasizing that only part of the cattle was registered, while the others were recent additions.

"I have no income, we only ate them. I only have this stick (stick) left and the dog that I should kill because it didn't protect the herd at all," the farmer says.

Residents of the area express fear as this is not the first case.

In the last two weeks alone, wolves have also attacked other animals, even entering residential areas.

The Zgjanë Forest, near the village, has become a haven for wolves, whose number, according to residents, has increased significantly in recent years.

The Lushnja police and the veterinary service have been notified of the incident.

Authorities are expected to bury the dead cattle and disinfect the area to avoid the spread of any infection.
