Caught drunk at the wheel, the 41-year-old points a pistol at the police

A 41-year-old man was arrested by the Lezha police, after pointing a pistol at the police officers.

41-year-old Luan Zabata turned out to be drunk, and when the officers stopped him, to avoid arrest, he pointed to the pistol which he had with a cartridge in the holster.

He pointed the pistol at the police officers to avoid arrest, after they stopped him for a check while he was driving a vehicle, the 41-year-old man was neutralized and handcuffed.    

A pistol with cartridges in the magazine, ready to fire, is seized. 

After the alcohol test, the 41-year-old was found to be drunk, at 1.395 mg/l.

The services of the Lezhë Police Station, within the framework of increased checks at night, in all axes of the district, with the aim of preventing criminal events, identifying and combating illegalities, supported by information intelligence, have organized and finalized the police operation coded "Neutralization".

As part of this operation, in Shengjin, at midnight, the Police services have stopped for control, the vehicle driven by the citizen LZ, who has created doubts among the Police officers, from his answers and behavior. For this reason, it was informed that he would be subjected to physical and vehicle checks, as well as an alcohol test. At that moment, this citizen objected to the performance of procedural actions by taking out a firearm that he was carrying and pointed it at the Police officers, in order to leave and avoid arrest. 

The immediate and professional intervention of the Police services made possible the immediate neutralization of citizen LZ, who, after performing the alcohol test, was in a drunken state, at the rate of 1.395 mg/l. In the capacity of material evidence, the firearm pistol with cartridges in the slot, ready to fire, which was held without a permit by this citizen, was seized. 

At the end of the procedural actions, the services of the Lezhë Police Station arrested the citizen LZ, 41 years old, resident of Shkodër, for the criminal offenses "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", "Resisting the police officer" of public order" and "Irregular driving".

The procedural materials were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office at the Lezhë Judicial District Court, for further action, the police announced.
