With the start of the summer season and the increase in traffic, road accidents have also increased.

In the month of June, 141 accidents occurred on the roads of Albania, where compared to June last year, there is an increase of almost 40%.

This six-month period has thus marked the highest number of accidents that occurred in half a year since 2018.

As a result, the number of injured and lost lives has reached 1051, 45% more than in the first six months of 2023.

INSTAT data show that in over 90 cases, drivers are at fault.

The highest number of accidents in June was committed by young people under 24 years old as well as the age group plus 60.

More accidents occurred on Friday in the morning hours, where the movements of citizens to rest on weekends are even higher.

Tirana prevails in the number of accidents followed by Durrësi and Lezha.
