The family of Gentian Manati, who lost their 3 children during a fire that destroyed their home in Florida, USA, is from the city of Lushnja.
They lived in the "18 Tetori" neighborhood and had arrived across the Atlantic through the American lottery. Initially, the spouses had left, and then Gentian's parents, Njazi and Alia, had joined them.
Gentian Manati's two sisters live in Lushnja, and they have managed to secure visas and travel to the US this morning, to be with their brother's family in these difficult moments.
The news of the loss of the lives of the three minors has left even the neighbors in shock. They told Report TV that they are shocked.
"There is no greater misfortune in life than raising three children with sacrifice," says a neighbor.
"We were shocked when we found out," said another.
The three children of the Manati family lost their lives in a fire that engulfed their two-story apartment in Jacksonville, Florida, USA, on the morning of August 26.
When emergency crews arrived at the apartment in the early hours of Wednesday morning, they found the three children unresponsive, while two adults and two children had managed to escape the building. Authorities have not yet released the cause of the fire and the investigation is ongoing.
To ease the financial conditions of the Manati family, a cousin of theirs has started a GoFundMe campaign aimed at covering funeral expenses for the 3 children and medical treatment for the injured who are in the hospital.
