The professor and founder of the Faculty of Economics at "Eqerem Çabej" University, Naxhi Mamani, has passed away at the age of 78. He closed his eyes forever this morning.

Professor of Economics Naxhi Mamani was born on June 7, 1944 in Gjirokastër. He passed away today as a result of a serious and incurable disease, which had been bothering him for a long time.

Gone without return, but left behind his honorable name. Prof. Mamani was a professional economist and at the same time an educator with values ​​and intellectual commitment.

He will be remembered as the Scientific Secretary of EC Gjirokastër, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the South and as the founder of the Faculty of Economics at the Eqrem Çabej University of Gjirokastër", writes journalist Engjëll Serjani as he delivers the sad news.

Naxhi Mamani held the degree of Doctor of Economic Sciences for the study "Economy of the district of Gjirokastra, the features of its development in the conditions of transition". With numerous scientific articles published in EU countries, he also won the academic title "Associate Professor".

Professor Mamani also held the position of Secretary of the Scientific Council of the District and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce for the Gjirokastër District, where he followed the scientific research activity and cross-border cooperation relations in the field of trade with Ioannina and Corfu, writes newsbomb.al.

Naxhi Maman's contribution was also visible as a representative of the "Center for Economic and Social Studies" based in Tirana; with commitments in the realization of several projects from programs with foreign donors with benefits in various fields for the Girokastri community and beyond.
