An Albanian accused of attempted rape in Italy, of a 21-year-old woman from Albania, has been sentenced to 4 years in prison. The event took place in Forte dei Marimi in Italy.

The events, as reported by the newspaper La Nazione, took place last February. The young Albanian was walking in the dark, where his fellow countryman jumped on her and tried to rape her. The girl fought until the end and was able to free herself from the hands of the attacker. She was helped by a man who was nearby. Then she filed a complaint with the police.

The aggressor was able to flee to Albania, from there to Greece. But his escape did not last long, as he was caught by the police and arrested on March 14. From there he was extradited to Italy, where he was sentenced.
