Nano ultimatum to police leaders after citizens' complaints

The general director of the state police, Gladis Nano, has drawn the attention of his subordinates to several complaints of citizens against the work of the blue uniform structures over the past few days.

Euronews Albania has secured the message sent to the heads of the police in the districts and the heads of the departments.

Nano considers the behavior of some police officers unacceptable based on the perception of citizens.

The full message of the police director

" Hello, dear manager

In recent days, as the General Director, I have received many comments from citizens about the work of the state police.

I have also closely followed most of the reactions of citizens on social networks.

Ignoring the political reactions, the complaints of the citizens and rightfully so, I have selected some of them that are very disturbing to me.

Citizens mostly complain about the behavior of Police officers, more about the road, patrols, eagles, border and criminal police.

Police officers who behave arrogantly with the citizens, who do not follow the law, but look after the interest of their own pockets, seriously abusing their duties, and consequently we will have this citizen perception.

Police officers who do not know humanity at all, who do not tolerate (within the law) honest citizens, but tolerate villains and traffickers.

Many denunciations on social networks also for the Border Police, for accepting bribes from the vessels and as a result we are in this situation today.

Arrogant behavior from General Patrols and Eagles, in most cases only to pressure and take bribes.

Tens of hundreds of similar messages have come and continue to come. This is very disturbing very alarming.

A message that should not fall on deaf ears:

"Of course, a good part of the old policemen should be removed altogether because they are corrupt, but with these young people, work with their education. They have endless problems with communication with citizens, inferior in human educational communication".

This message is very painful for the Police.

"It is enough to have a police document and you can do whatever you want in this country."

I chose some of them that have been addressed to me as the General Director.

Take immediate action from the relevant Departments and do not report without reading 'agree, agree'. But you need to reflect urgently in front of this reality scanned by the citizen's eye".

The message of the head of the police comes after the tragedy in Himare, where Gladis Nano herself went down to the field to see closely the situation on the coast and the work of the police officers.
