The Guardia di Finanza and the Police of Vlora have made it possible to capture 992 kg of cannabis, while they have arrested 5 people, namely 3 Albanians and 2 Ukrainians. It is learned that the exchange was made with three skiffs in a sailboat that was waiting for them at sea. After being loaded into the ship, the Guardia di Finanza and the Police of Vlora intervened, which made it possible to arrest the traffickers.

The whole action took place in the Gulf of Arusha, the Veliera then headed towards Italy, but did not arrive at its destination after being caught in the waters off the Italian coast by the Guardia di Finanza.

During the anti-drug operation conducted by the Police of Vlora and the Guardia di Finanzia, 5 people were arrested, three Albanians and two Ukrainians, while one was declared wanted.

Arbër Saraseli, Saverjo Imeraj and Qemal Pekmezi have been arrested , as well as citizen Gregor Likaj was declared wanted . Ukrainian citizens Bychkovi Serhii and Senkevych Serhii have been arrested by the Guardia di Finanza .

OPERATION DETAILS

About 250 police forces were involved in the operation, which carried out checks and pursuits from land, sea and from the air with GDF and Frontex helicopters. The controls were finalized with the blocking of the vessel that had the narcotics and the arrest of the persons who had organized its trafficking.

As a result of the operation, the State Police services made it possible to identify the persons suspected of having transported the narcotics, with 3 vessels, to another vessel in the depths of the sea.

The Vlora Police caught and arrested citizens Arbër Saraseli, 31 years old, Saverjo Imeraj, 22 years old and Qemal Pekmezi, 19 years old, and issued a wanted notice for citizen Gregor Likaj, 33 years old, all four of these residents. in Vlore.

Also, during the operation, citizens Bychkovi Serhii, 43 years old and Senkevych Serhii, 62 years old , both with Ukrainian citizenship , were caught red-handed in Italian waters by the Guardia di Finanza .

The citizens arrested in Vlora, in cooperation with each other, on 07.08.2022, around 15:00, are suspected of having transported the suspected narcotic substance marijuana, with 3 speedboats to another vessel, in the depths of the sea Jon and then they started it towards Italy.

As a result of the development of the joint operation, by the authorities of the Guardia di Finanza, the vessel in which the narcotics were transported was captured in Italian waters. The GDF services, during the control on board the vessel, seized a quantity of 992 kg of suspected marijuana narcotics, divided into 153 packages.

Following the operation, during the check in the residence of the citizen Saverjo Imeraj, in Vlora, the services of the DVP Vlora found and seized a quantity of suspected narcotic substance cannabis, seized 3 boats (boats), 3 mobile devices and 2 vehicles.

Under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Vlora, the work continues for the complete documentation of this case, the capture and imprisonment of other persons implicated in the trafficking of narcotics.

This operation is a clear indication of the very good cooperation with the GDF, the Interforce Office of the Italian Police and the Italian Police Officers at the QNOD, as well as the measures taken by the State Police to prevent and combat drug trafficking.
