SPAK took him for trial, Veliaj seeks freedom in the High Court

The outgoing mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has requested freedom from the High Court.

Albana Boksi has been appointed rapporteur for the case, and she is expected to set a date for the hearing in the coming days.

Veliaj, through his defense, requests the annulment of the decision given by the GJKKO and the GJKKO Appeal, which have left the latter in the coercive measure of "prison arrest."

A day earlier, SPAK announced that it had completed the investigations and sent Veliaj and his wife Ajola Xoxa for trial.

Today, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that Veliaj will be dismissed from the position of mayor and the candidate will be Ogerta Manastirliu.
