Skënder Hita suspends the chief commissioner and deputy commissioners of Shkodra, after the discovery of a drug plantation

The Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, has ordered the launch of a disciplinary investigation and the suspension from duty of the Chief of the Shkodra Police Commissariat, the Chief of the Velipojë Police Station and the Assistant Policing Specialist in the Area, following the discovery of a drug plantation.

It is learned that a citizen had sent information via e-mail to the General Director of the State Police about the cultivation of thousands of narcotic plants in the village of Reç i Ri, Velipojë, in an open, easily verifiable territory in a field area.

According to the official announcement, in the village of Reç i Ri, Velipojë Administrative Unit, 7446 suspected narcotic plants of the cannabis sativa species were found to be cultivated. 

Following this case, the Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, has ordered the suspension from duty of:

Chief Commissioner Bekim Lika, Head of the Shkodra Police Station

Deputy Commissioner Zef Marku, Chief of the Velipojë Police Station

Inspector Samet Kadroji, SPZ assistant/specialist, responsible for the area where the narcotic plants were found

A disciplinary investigation has also been launched for two other police officers, part of the territory control group, without the possibility of suspension from duty.
