Sentenced to 15 years in prison, Albanian with two names arrested in Italy

A 42-year-old Albanian, internationally wanted for human trafficking, has been arrested in Italy after a coordinated operation between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome.

Sefer Selimaj, also known as Ani Ibraliu, who had evaded Albanian justice for years, has been arrested by the police.

According to the State Police, the 42-year-old was declared an international wanted man after the Tirana Court of Appeals finally sentenced him in 2017 to 15 years in prison for the criminal offense of human trafficking.

From the sentence given by the Albanian justice system, Selimaj still has 13 years, 10 months and 19 days of imprisonment left to serve.
