
RENEA, FNSH and the Operational Forces have conducted an operation in Pogradec , where, among other things, they raided the apartment of 34-year-old Erjon Llapushi , a person with a criminal record.
Erjon Llapushi is the perpetrator of the serious crime that occurred on October 2 in a bar in Elbasan , where he killed the waiter, Gazment Kurmaku , for a table .
Llapushi grabbed the waiter Gazment Kurmaku by the throat, threatened him with a knife, and then killed him.
While his accomplice, Luan Dulellari, made no move to stop his friend or protect the victim, but escaped.
On July 17, 2024, the Elbasan Prosecution requested a total of 20 years in prison for Llapushi for the criminal offense of "intentional murder".
Erjon Llapushi has also been convicted of two other charges, that of "Intentional serious injury" and "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons and ammunition."
Llapushi is known as a very problematic and worrying person for the Korça and Pogradec Police, due to his frequent conflicts and clashes with various people.
So what is Erjon Llapushi's criminal activity and how did this character manage to escape punishment?
October 2021 killed the waiter in Elbasan

May 2021, arrested for human trafficking (released)
On May 29, 2021, Erjon Llapushi was arrested by police after he was transporting 24 illegal immigrants who had been promised passage to EU countries in exchange for a ransom.
Such a criminal offense, namely aiding illegal border crossing in exchange for money, is punishable by up to 3 to 7 years in prison.
While many people are now in prison for this massive criminal offense in recent years, Erjon Llapushi was surprisingly free and it is not known how many days he served in prison.
2019, Coercion for giving away property (free again)
In 2019, Erjon Llapushi, together with Saimir Fraholli, through pressure and blackmail were able to obtain 17 percent of the shares of a private company, which aims to transport passengers on the Pogradec-Korça and Pogradec-Tirana lines.
They then sold the stolen shares to another person.
The Tirana Court of First Instance for Serious Crimes has found Erjon Llapushi guilty of the criminal offense of "Coercion by threat or violence for the provision of property" committed in collaboration.
And in 2020, Llapushi ends up in prison. The circumstances of how Llapushi managed to get out of prison for a criminal offense punishable by up to 8 years in prison, while continuing his criminal activity, are unknown.
2008, intentional grievous bodily harm
In the police announcement of May 2021, when Erjon Llapushi was arrested for aiding illegal border crossing, there is one detail.
The announcement states that Erjon Llapushi had previously committed another crime, that of intentional serious injury.
Intentional serious injury is punishable by imprisonment from three to ten years. 13 years ago, in a bar in the city of Pogradec, Llapushi injured Mariglen Topuzi, while she was standing with him.
Topuzi was shot with a gun, receiving a wound to the head and a wound to the chest below the heart. Llapushi was convicted of this criminal offense.
But this sentence is a precedent that seriously compromises the justice system, which has mitigated the sentence and even 'amnestied' Erjon Llapushi for subsequent crimes.
Unlicensed possession of weapons
By committing the criminal offense of intentional serious injury, Erjon Llapushi has consequently and automatically committed the criminal offense of illegal possession of a weapon.
Possession of weapons without the permission of the competent state bodies is punishable by imprisonment of five to seven years.
Erjon Llapushi was also convicted of this criminal offense, where his sentences were reduced by combining them.
May 1, 2007, attempted murder
Erjon Llapushi's criminal CV also includes an attempted murder, which occurred on May 1, 2007. Erjon Llapushi attempted to kill Andi Sukollar with a firearm.
After the incident, Llapushi was declared wanted, arrested and then convicted.
