The dam of the Bunec hydroelectric power plant in Himara broke at noon today.

Meanwhile, this video also shows the moment the dam collapsed, causing flooding in the area. As a result, 12 businesses were damaged.


Regarding the situation created in Bunec, the Ministry of Defense also reacted today.

"At the time of the collapse, there were about 15,000 cubic meters of water. As a result, there is water and mud in 12 businesses in Bunec and the food base of the livestock of 2 families has been damaged. There are no human problems," the Ministry says.

While work is underway to clear the mud that has formed, the Bunec-Piqeras axis is now passable.

"The situation is being monitored by the Vlora prefecture and the civil emergency structures of the Himara municipality. The Ministry of Defense, the National Civil Protection Agency and the Armed Forces are always on standby, to assist the community," the Ministry of Defense concluded.
