The body found near the Enel power plant in the Castel Giubileo area of Rome is that of Suzanna Koçibelli, a 62-year-old Albanian woman who lost contact with her family about two weeks ago.
The discovery was made yesterday, January 15, in the early hours of the afternoon. The alarm was raised by the plant employees, who noticed the woman's lifeless body in the water. When the call arrived at the single emergency number 112, the carabinieri and the forensic doctor intervened at the scene and carried out the usual checks. Suzanna was sixty-two years old and disappeared on January 10 from Prima Porta. She left home and disappeared without a trace.
According to the initial external examination of the body, there are no signs of violence. The hypothesis is that it is a suicide, as the family members have previously expressed concern, revealing that she suffered from depression. The body had been in the water for several days. After the completion of the investigations at the site of discovery, the body has been transferred to the morgue and is at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, which will assess whether to order an autopsy. The autopsy will reveal the exact cause of death.
Suzana's family, seeing her absence from home, has reported her disappearance to the police.
"The last time I saw my mother was yesterday evening, the evening before she disappeared, because we live in the same building in different houses, she was in pajamas, but I don't know what she was wearing when she went out. Mom, come home, I'm worried, I love you," her daughter told the Italian newspaper "Fanpage.it".
The hope until the end was to find her alive and that she would soon return home to her loved ones. Unfortunately, after two weeks, the search ended with the worst possible results.
