Albania is included in Covid's list of safe countries to travel for European Union citizens and is recommended by union member states to also remove all pandemic-related restrictions for Albanian citizens.
The council updated the list of third epidemiologically safe countries. In this list are countries with low cases of infections and a satisfactory percentage of the vaccinated population.
The Council's decision is not binding on EU member states, but advises them to remove all restrictions that are in place for Albania, the US, Lebanon, Serbia, North Macedonia and Taiwan.
The list will be updated every two weeks depending on the data the Council will collect for the epidemiological situation in third countries.
For China the restrictions will not be lifted until the latter does the same with the restrictions it has imposed on European Union citizens.
