A 44-year-old Albanian man lost his life in an explosion on Saturday in The Hague, Netherlands.

It is learned that the victim is 44-year-old Mikel Kamberi, who left behind three minors.

"It was like watching a movie. It didn't seem real. The whole time, the children kept asking if their father was alive and why they couldn't call him," said the victim's wife.

Meanwhile, authorities in the Netherlands have arrested three suspects in connection with the devastating explosions that rocked an apartment block in The Hague, killing six people and leaving a community shaken.

The explosion, which occurred at 6:15 a.m. local time on Saturday, destroyed five houses in the Tarwekamp area of the city.

Police are exploring "all avenues" that may have led to the incident, with the arrests suggesting a possible criminal motive.

The suspects are being held in limited custody, allowed contact only with their lawyers, and are expected to appear in court later this week. “Further arrests cannot be ruled out,” officials said.

Many residents were evacuated and remain in shelters while structural damage is being assessed.

Several vehicles have been seized, although it is unclear whether the car was seen speeding away from the scene immediately after the explosion.

Police have received dozens of pieces of information and are appealing for more witnesses and security camera footage.

Forensic teams are ready to resume the investigation once the crime scene is deemed safe.
