The Prosecutor's Office of Fier has registered criminal proceedings for the criminal offense of "destruction of property by fire", while investigating the causes of the fire that burned dozens of businesses on the third and fourth floors of a shopping center in the center of Lushnje.

"The investigations are being carried out in full cooperation with the judicial police services of the State Police. With the administration of the procedural acts and expert acts, a conclusion will be drawn on the cause of the fire and the initial hearth", informs the prosecutor's office.

Today it was reported that the "Metropol" shopping center had deficiencies in the fire alarm system as well as the small number of fire extinguishers that were inside the premises.

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Fier informs the public that regarding the event that took place in the "Metropol Center" shopping center, Çlirimi neighborhood, Lushnjë, it has registered criminal proceedings no. 1846/2023, for the criminal offense "Destruction of property by fire", provided by article 151 of the Criminal Code.

The ready prosecutor immediately went to the scene where the first investigative actions were carried out.

An investigative group consisting of experts from various fields and a group of judicial police officers under the direction of the Prosecutor has been set up. The investigations are being carried out in full cooperation with the judicial police services of the State Police. With the administration of procedural acts and expert acts, a conclusion will be drawn on the cause of the fire and the initial hearth.
