The 21 citizens arrested during the July 2 protest held in front of the Parliament will appear today at 09:30 before the Tirana Court for the assessment of their arrest in flagrante delicto.

The protesters and the Coordination Group have announced that they will gather in protest in front of the court while the hearing is taking place.

Protesters expressed their outrage over the arrest of 21 citizens with violence in yesterday's national protest that took place in the capital. After almost 2 hours of speeches, citizens marched as usual through the streets of the capital, but the situation became tense at police station number 3 on "Mine Peza" street, where the arrested protesters are being held.

At around 11:45 PM, a group of citizens, some of them masked, attacked the police station with stones and sticks, breaking the windows. They even managed to break down the door and some broke into the waiting room.

The arrested protesters are charged with 7 criminal offenses, destruction of property, resisting a police officer, assault in the line of duty, disturbing public order and peace, organizing and participating in illegal gatherings and demonstrations, disobeying a lawful police order, and obstructing the movement of vehicles.
