Third national protest of the DP, police publish measures: Here are the roads that will be blocked!

The Democratic Party will hold its third national protest tomorrow, February 10, in front of the Prime Minister's Office.

In order to guarantee the smooth running of the rally, Tirana Police has announced the measures that will be taken for this protest, which will start at 5:00 PM.

In implementation of these measures, movement will be restricted on several main road axes/segments of the capital, starting from 23:45 today.

Tirana/Representatives of the political entity Democratic Party of Albania have notified the Tirana Police of the holding of a rally, the following day, at 5:00 PM, in front of the Prime Minister's Office.

In order to guarantee the smooth running of the rally, the Tirana Police has taken all measures, based on the law "On Gatherings".

In implementation of these measures, today and tomorrow, movement will be restricted on several road axes/segments, specifically:

-From 23:45 today, traffic will be blocked and no parking of vehicles will be allowed until the end of the rally, on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, from the place called "Ura e Dajtit" to "Ismail Qemali" street;

-From 3:00 PM until the end of the rally, there will be a traffic jam on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, from the intersection near the Ministry of Interior to "Mother Teresa" Square, as well as on "Ukraine e Lirë", "Papa John Paul II" and "Ismail Qemali" streets.


Depending on the development of the rally, there may be restrictions on vehicle traffic on other road axes. In case of blockage, to assist citizens who will be circulating on these axes, Tirana Police has taken measures to divert vehicle traffic to alternative routes.

Tirana Police appeals to citizens to avoid driving on road axes that will be blocked and to use alternative routes, so as not to impede the free movement of participants in the rally.

Tirana Police calls on citizens to distance themselves if they encounter illegal actions that violate public order and safety.

In a press conference, Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha announced the date of the next protest, on February 10 at 5:00 p.m. This will be the opposition's third national protest, after the one on January 24, which ended with clashes and acts of violence between protesters and law enforcement, where 11 officers were injured and 18 people were taken to the police station. 

The opposition held its first national protest on December 22, 2025, a rally that was also accompanied by tensions, where at the end of the closing speech of the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, protesters threw Molotov cocktails at the prime minister's office and removed the metal fence. One citizen was engulfed in flames and a police officer was injured.
