Floods/ How the situation appears today in Lezhë and Shkodër

From monitoring on the ground today, 23.11.2022, at 08.00, the flood situation on the ground continues to be as follows:

• The hydrometer of Lake Shkodra at 08:00, marks the quota of 7.90 m, (quota measured according to 07:00). (quota max 8.70 m).
• The hydrometer of the Drin river at 08.00 marks the quota of 5.65 m, (quota measured according to 07.00). (quota max 7.50 m).

Total flooded surface 1435 Ha

N.A. Mountain side

1. The surface of flooded agricultural land is estimated at 850 Ha, mainly in the villages of Obot, Muriqan, Oblikë

2. The Obot road has 60 cm of water, it is passable only with military vehicles.
3. The Oblika 1 and 2 water pipelines are out of order as a result of the floods

N.A. Dajç

1. The surface of flooded agricultural land is estimated at 100 Ha, mainly in the villages of Mushan, Shirq, Pentar.

N.A. Velipoja

The surface of flooded agricultural land is estimated at 135 Ha. mainly the villages of Baks, Luarz. Chas.

A. A. The Black Stone

The surface of the flooded agricultural land is estimated at 150 Ha, mainly in the villages of Kuç and Rrenc.
There is a clearing of agricultural lands on the banks of the Drin river in the place called Mali i Vukatani, in a length of 800 ml.

The surface of flooded agricultural land is estimated at 200 Ha, specifically in Trush villages.

Families currently evacuated:

There are 16 families evacuated, a total of 70 people, mainly from the Administrative Units:

A. Administrative Guri I Zi, 13 families, 57 people, 30 live, small things have been evacuated.

A. Administrative Bërdicë, 2 families (8 persons)
Ward no. 1, 1 family (5 people)

43 people are accommodated in dormitories.

1 house with water supply (Ajasem neighborhood).

Shkodër municipality is ready with all its human, logistical and accommodation capacities to come to the aid of the population endangered by floods caused by rainfall and discharges of hydropower plants.

The situation in Lezhë District, 8:20 a.m., date 23.11.2022

In the territory of Lezhe district, during the evening until this morning, we had rains of medium to high intensity. The level of rainfall was about 40 mm of rain. The rains continue without interruption, which would negatively affect the normalization of the situation.

The situation so far is presented as follows: In the Dajç administrative unit, Lezhë municipality, it continues to be the same as a result of the rains that fell during the 24 hours.

The bridge that connects the village of Gjadër with Zojs-Gramsh is also passable for small vehicles.

The road connecting the village of Blinisht-Superstradë (Lezhë-Shkodër) continues to be impassable as a result of the presence of water in the body of the road. The road connecting the village of Blinisht-Baqel is completely passable.

We have an increase in the level of the body of the road in the village of Piraj, which has become impassable for small vehicles.
In the village of Kakarriq, we continue to have presence in 4 apartments, even though the water level continues to decrease.

We have 500ha of flooded land in Torovicë village, Balldre administrative unit, 800ha in Dajç and Blinisht administrative unit, Lezhë municipality. The road connecting the village of Torovice with the village of Malecaj, Balldren Administrative Unit, is impassable for small vehicles.

Hydrovores are working at full capacity and non-stop. Specifically, Droje, Shllinza, Tale, Shëngjin Island, Grykë Zeze, Gocaj, the water levels are below critical quotas and the Balldre reservoir is about -1.2 m.
The Drin River is at the +1.40 m quota from the +2.0 m critical quota. The Gjader river has high quotas, while the Mat river has a negligible increase in port quotas. In Mirdita and Kurbin municipalities, no problems are reported by MC structures
