Deteriorating weather conditions suspend the sailing of ships in Vlora and
Ship navigation in Vlora and ferries on the Durrës-Bari line are suspended

Due to the deteriorating marine hydrometeorological conditions predicted for tomorrow, the Vlora Harbour Master's Office has announced the suspension of sea navigation for small vessels and fishing vessels.

Meanwhile, the Durrës Port Authority has announced that as a result of the worsening weather, there will be no ferry sailings to Bari, nor vice versa.

NOTICE:

Based on the forecast for the deteriorating hydrometeorological situation inside and outside the Bay of Vlora, during 12.01.2025 starting from 22:00 on 11.01.2025 the hydrometeorological conditions will be in the SOUTH-SOUTH-WEST direction with a force of up to 6-7bft with a wind speed of up to 15-20m/s and a wave height of 1.50 to 2.00 meters. In order to prevent any unexpected situation due to atmospheric conditions, we request the cooperation of all entities that exercise activities in the maritime field, to take all necessary measures to secure the vessels in the port and increase the readiness of the crew on the vessels.

1. IT IS PROHIBITED TO ISSUE A LAUNCH PERMIT FOR SMALL FLOATING VESSELS AND FISHING VESSELS OPERATING IN THE OPEN SEAS, STARTING FROM 22:00 ON 11.01.2024.

2. ALL OPERATORS OF SMALL VESSELS AND FISHING VESSELS OPERATING INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE GAY OF VALORA SHOULD TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THE HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS AND TAKE MEASURES FOR THEIR SAFETY.

3. International maritime transport vessels will continue to operate normally according to their respective destinations.

4. The improvement of the deteriorated hydrometeorological situation for small vessels and fishing vessels will be after 20:00 on 12.01.2025.
