"They invited us for beers and cocaine..." The Astir case, what the 21-year-old's friends testified to the police

Another charge has been added to the five young men wanted for the confinement in the apartment of a 21-year-old woman in Astir, who alerted the police.

Now they are also accused of producing and selling narcotics. With this additional charge, the young men will face justice after the 21-year-old's friends told police that they went to the apartment willingly, after their friend invited them to party with the boys and consume cocaine.

Other charges they are facing include illegal possession of weapons due to two pistols found in the house, unlawful deprivation of liberty after isolating the girl in the apartment, and forgery of documents. The latter because one of the young men was carrying false documents.

Among the people wanted is the boyfriend of the girl who called the police for help. He is Joni Sadikaj, 26, from Tepelena, who, together with his 4 friends from Tirana and Vlora, spent the evening in the company of 3 girls in 2 apartments that he had rented for the day.

The unusual incident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Immediately, police services, assisted by RENEA special forces, went to the area, where negotiations began to open the door. The girl's parents, who cooperated with the police, also made allegations of violence and kidnapping. 

RENEA forces descended from the terrace of the building and entered the balcony of the apartment on the eighth floor, after they suspected that the girl might commit some extreme act.

After questioning the girl, weapons, cocaine doses, and a bulletproof vest were discovered in the next apartment.
