The Euro closed the week with a new historical minimum in the exchange rate with the Lek. According to the official exchange rate of the Bank of Albania, the Euro was exchanged on Friday at 105.62 ALL. Compared to a year ago, the exchange rate has fallen by 12.1%.
But it seems that this "sinking" of the euro is not recognized by the beams placed by the concessionaire of "Kastrati Group", the company of the oligarch Shefqet Kastrati, in collecting the tax for vehicles.
As can be seen in the following photo, for a car where the tax is 5 euros, 660 ALL are kept. So, if you take euros with you, you only pay 5 euros, but if you have Albanian lek, the fee is fixed at 660 lek.
According to the contract, this exchange rate is set at the moment of the beginning of the collection of the fee, even though Albanians have had about 4 years that they do not have to pay 132 lek to buy 1 euro.
So, as can be seen, with the current exchange rate, more than 100 ALL is kept. This is pure robbery from the pockets of citizens.
