The High Judicial Council has today decided to terminate the status of the magistrate for the judge of Tirana, Artan Gjermeni. This decision by the HCJ has come after two requests for resignation from the duties submitted during the last months by Germany.

The first request was submitted by Germany on May 24, but no decision was made until July. On July 15, the HCJ announced that it stopped the procedure for terminating the status of judge Gjermeni, after he withdrew his request for resignation. Subsequently, on September 13, he submitted a second request for resignation, which was reviewed and accepted by the HCJ within a week.
