Albanian Edmond Përbashaj , known as " Mondi ", shows no sign of remorse as Greek police officers discover a portable router, a mobile phone and a metal rod in his cell during a surprise search.

He is a convict known as one of the strongest mafia bosses, who, despite the fact that he is serving a sentence for a multitude of criminal offenses, always manages to do his "jobs" and organize his gang, which consists of dozens of Albanians who have "laid" networks in Greece.

"Even in solitary confinement, Mondi will find a way to have a cell phone and drugs in his hands," said a senior official of the "Greek FBI," commenting on the search of his cell.

The Albanian convict had set up a "prefabricated shop" inside the prisons of Ioannina with the help of the deputy director of the prisons and officers, whom he paid to "turn a blind eye."

He smuggled drugs into prisons, trafficked them, and "laundered" money from the prison canteen.

Something similar seems to have happened in Nafplio prison, where he is currently being held.

"Mondi" is behind murders, such as the one that occurred a few months ago in Thrakomedones, where an Albanian citizen was killed outside a cafe, and is behind bomb explosions, drug trafficking and other criminal acts, according to police officers.

Another case has been filed against him, among many others, which is expected to be tried in the coming months.
