Greek police have arrested in Piraeus one of the suspected perpetrators of the execution of 40-year-old Besnik Hida, a crime that occurred in Lushnja on October 1, 2019.

51-year-old Ardian Ahmetaj , who is accused of committing the murder in collaboration with  Laert Haxhiu and Orgest Bilbil , has been arrested .

Ardian Ahmetaj was declared internationally wanted after the Fier Court, in 2023, imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" for the criminal offense of "Intentional murder, committed in collaboration" and "Unauthorized possession of firearms and ammunition".

The 51-year-old is suspected of having shot and killed Besnik Hida in 2019, in the "Skënder Libohova" neighborhood of Lushnja, in collaboration with Laert Haxhiu and Orgest Bilbil. The latter was shot in a bar, while the perpetrators were wearing masks and firearms.

The suspected perpetrators of Besnik Hida's execution were discovered four years after the crime, with police announcing on July 20, 2023 that they had been identified.

Besmir Hida was the uncle of Zamir Latif, the young man who was killed on October 11, 2017 in Lushnja, while the target was Xhulio Shkurti, Aldo Bare's nephew.

State Police/Another phase of the international police operation "The Wanted" is being finalized, for the capture of citizens declared internationally wanted.

A citizen with high social risk, a member of a criminal group, is arrested in Greece, with the aim of extradition to our country.

State Police structures have provided information about a wanted citizen who was hiding in Greece and immediately, through Interpol Tirana, have collaborated with Greek counterparts to locate, capture and arrest the person with high social risk.

As a result of the exchange of information in real time between specialized structures of the State Police and their Greek counterparts, in Piraeus, Greece, within the framework of operation "The Wanted", citizen AA, 51 years old, was located, captured and arrested for extradition purposes.

This citizen was declared internationally wanted after the Fier Court, in 2023, imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" for the criminal offense of "Intentional murder, committed in collaboration" and "Unauthorized possession of firearms and ammunition".

This citizen is suspected of having killed citizen BH with a firearm in 2019 in Lushnja, in collaboration with citizens LH and OB.

Interpol Tirana continues to cooperate with Interpol Athens, with the aim of extraditing this citizen to Albania.

Testimony of Besnik Hida's brother-in-law:

Besnik Hida was killed by the same assassins who massacred his nephew, Zamir Latifi's father, Fatos Latifi, claimed.

"He was the boy's uncle. That's the reason. Now it's not just the brother-in-law's problem. This was the problem of all of us. They said that when they did the attack, it just started, when they did the first massacre. They said it just started. What has started will come out in the end ," he declared two days after the execution of his brother-in-law.

Fatos Latifi stated at the time that it was a drug dealing group that was behind the crime, but did not mention names.

"The police here are zero. We have notified them of their location. Now the people we suspect are a large group... We have given the state a video of when the organization was made, when the kids were killed. Where the organization was made before they committed the massacre and so far no arrests have been made,"  said Fatos Latifi.

In 2017, Fatos Latifi's son, Zamir Latifi, was killed along with his friend Jurgen Hoxha in an organized assassination.

For the double crime, which was considered the Lushnja massacre, Orges Bilbili and Laert Haxhiu were sentenced to life imprisonment .

But how did the Lushnja massacre happen?

Zamir Latifi and Jurgen Hoxha were killed on October 11, 2017, while two other people, Marjus Xhepexhiu, the owner of the bar where the two victims were at the time, and a passerby, 66-year-old Bujar Turku, who was passing by on a bicycle at the time, were slightly injured.

The two young men were executed with automatic rifle fire at the entrance of the bar. The perpetrator got out of a vehicle and was holding an automatic rifle in his hands, while he had a black mask on his head. He walked almost 20 meters, approaching the two young men who were standing in the cafe and immediately opened fire with an automatic rifle. He fired two Kalashnikov rounds, while leaving Jurgen Hoxha and his friend, Zamir Latifi, dead on the spot.

He then quickly left in the direction of the exit of Lushnja, towards the area of ??the former Plastics Factory. Zamir Latif was assassinated once again, a year before his execution.

He was friends with Xhulio Shkurti, the nephew of Aldo Bare, while Xhulio Shkurti was shot in the leg, while Sajmo Xhelili was also wounded. Xhelili and Shkurti also have family ties to each other. Two years after the serious event, which was also called the "Lushnja massacre", two more executions took place.

Enver Boriçi was the next victim of mafia assassinations, who was killed in December 2019, while Besnik Hida was also executed in the same year. The latter was the uncle of 23-year-old Zamir Latifi. The police suspected that his murder could be related to the murder of Zamir Latifi, for whom his uncle wanted justice and the incident to be solved.

How Aldo Bare's nephew survived the assassination attempt

The investigations conducted have revealed that the massacre of October 11, 2017, targeted Xhulio Shkurti, the nephew of Aldo Bare. The attempted murder of Xhulio Shkurti several years ago is believed to have been carried out in revenge, referring here to the history of conflicts between the families of Xhulio Shkurti and Laert Haxhiu.

This revenge began early, after the gang of Aldo Bare alias Alfred Shkurti burned down the house of Laert Haxhiu's uncle, Shkëlqim Haxhiu.

Then in January 2005, Laert's uncle's son, Klodian Haxhiu, was murdered. In 2016, Laert Haxhiu attempted to kill Xhulio Shkurti, a murder he failed to complete, and attempted again in an organized manner in 2017, but again without success.

Precisely, the failure to finalize the murder of Xhulio Shkurti was the impetus for Laert Haxhiu to attempt again to eliminate Shkurti, but this time in a more organized manner.

To achieve this goal, after September 2016, at an unspecified time, Haxhiu created a criminal group in which he included his close social connections, Orgest Bilbil and Anterio Kaloshi, as well as other people.
