From songs dedicated to Kosovo, to those about love, the lyrics of poet Agim
Agim Doçi

This Monday, the well-known poet, Agim Doçi, passed away at the age of 76.

For several days, Doçi was in a serious condition in intensive care after suffering cerebral ischemia. Unfortunately he didn't manage to close his eyes for good this morning.

But Agim Doçi has left behind a "mine" of lyrics, which have been sung by icons of Albanian music and have been passed down over the years.

Here it is worth mentioning the song dedicated to Kosovo, "Is innocence killed" sung by Leonora Jakupi. This song came out during the Kosovo war and is about the war and the Serbian genocide against the Albanians.

The singer dedicates this song to her father, who was a member of the KLA and died during the war, and it was the pen of Agim Doçi who turned all the experiences of the people of Kosovo into a real feeling.

"Don't spoil the happiness" sung by the great Parashqevi Simaku is another text that bears the "stamp" of Agim Doçi as a lyricist.

Likewise, "Nata" sung by Aurela Gaçe has the 76-year-old poet who passed away this Monday morning as the author of the text.

Agim Doçi is the author of many Albanian song lyrics, the winner of over 50 awards, among them a two-time representative with his lyrics in Eurovision.

The collaboration with the composer Edmond Zhulali in many songs of festivals in Albania and with over 100 songs about the war in Kosovo stands out./vizionplus
